Wastewater monitoring using POCIS passive samplers in Taraz suburbs

Within the framework of the PCF “BR24992867 - Development of resource-saving technologies for the development and management of the water sector and processing industry in Kazakhstan, establishment of an innovative engineering centre” a passive sampling system POCIS (Polar Organic Chemical Integrative Sampler) was installed for monitoring of wastewater composition. The device was installed on May 2, 2025 in the sedimentation tank located outside the city limits of Taraz.

The purpose of this stage is to identify pollutants of organic origin in the aquatic environment and assess the degree of anthropogenic load. The obtained data will be used to develop effective and sustainable solutions for water resources management and improve the environmental situation in the region.
